Welcome Our Principal, Dr. Kienlen!

June 6, 2023

Dear Longs Creek Elementary School Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of Longs Creek Elementary School. It is my sincere pleasure and honor to join this great school community.

I was born and raised in Minnesota, but I came to Texas “as fast as I could,” as the saying goes. I have lived in San Antonio for more than 20 years, and for nearly 30 years in Texas. My wife, Sofia, and I have been married for 22 years, and we have four children (two are still NEISD students). When not serving the school community, I enjoy reading, traveling and volunteering in various capacities at my church.

I have been working in public education for more than 26 years in various positions, including substitute teacher, classroom teacher, dual language specialist, assistant principal, assistant director and principal. I have worked in four school districts, as well as with the City of San Antonio as an assistant director with the Pre-K 4 SA program. In addition, I have experience working as an adjunct instructor at Texas A&M University – San Antonio. As your new principal, I look forward to using skills learned through these collective experiences in a new setting.

As the new principal of Longs Creek Elementary School, I am committed to embracing the positive traditions and practices that are already in place here, while striving toward success for the future. I look forward to working with each of you as we share a common goal of putting students first and working diligently to ensure their success. I am certain that Longs Creek has dedicated, talented team members committed to doing what is in the best interest of our students. We will continue to put students first and work diligently to ensure their success.

I believe all children deserve an exemplary education in an environment that is safe and conducive to learning. Together, we can help our children excel and provide them with an education that is second to none. I am honored and humbled to serve as the new principal of Longs Creek Elementary School and look forward to meeting each one of you.

I welcome your conversation and input throughout this year and look forward to building this partnership. I am excited about all we will accomplish together for all students and look forward to celebrating our collective success this school year.

Sincerely,

Paul M. Kienlen, Ph.D.

Proud Principal of Longs Creek Elementary School
