• Student Teacher/Clinical Teacher


    External Candidates must meet and complete the following: 

    • Submit an online application by creating a profile (or login to an existing account) and applying for the "Fall 2024 - Student Teacher/Clinical Teacher" posting (Job ID # 28611);

    • Criminal history background check clearance. Please print, complete and email the Computerized Criminal History Verification Form (CCH) (pdf) to your university or program placement coordinator.  Submission of the application and CCH form authorizes Human Resources to complete a background check (this step is not required for current employees); and

    • Be listed on the NEISD Placement Request (pdf) form submitted by the university/placement coordinator to New Talent Team at studentplacements@neisd.net; and

    • Attend a Virtual Student Teacher Orientation prior to working with students. The link and detailed information on the orientation will be provided after all the steps listed above are completed.

    * Students submitting a request for a different program (e.g. going from a field experience student to a student teacher in the district) must apply for each specific posting; however, student teachers completing dual assignments are not required to re-apply for a rotation change.

    Geographic Preference: Every effort will be made to honor geographical preferences, when available, in the district, The Human Resources Department will place student teachers in schools and with cooperating teachers who will provide proper mentoring and supervision of students. Program coordinators and supervisors may contact the individual principals and teachers, after student teacher placements have been identified, to answer any specific program questions or to schedule cooperating teacher training sessions.
