2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
NEISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPROVES PAY INCREASES
Professional/Administrative (A, CS, E, PS and T) Pay Scales:- Returning professional/administrative employees who earn a year of credit will receive a 1.0% general pay increase based on the midpoint of the new 2025-2026 pay scales with additional targeted adjustments for nurses.

Professional/administrative employees who do not earn a year of credit will receive a scale adjustment increase based on the midpoint of the new 2025-2026 pay scales.
Classified (C, I, O, PS, D, CO, F and T) Pay Scales:-
Returning classified employees who earn a year of credit will receive a 1.0% general pay increase based on the midpoint of the new 2025-2026 pay scales with additional targeted adjustments for specific positions, including, but not limited to, bus drivers, custodians, special education assistants, instructional assistants and police officers.

Classified employees who do not earn a year of credit will receive a scale adjustment increase based on the midpoint of the new 2025-2026 pay scales.
Retention Supplement
The North East Independent School District Board of Trustees also approved a one-time retention supplement equal to one and a half percent (1.5%) of an employee's annualized pay grade midpoint with a minimum supplement payment of $375 for employees in positions that receive only the 1.0% general pay increase. To qualify, these employees must have a hire date on or before October 1, 2025. The supplement amount shall be paid in one payment in November based upon the qualified employee's completion of their 2025 fall semester work schedule in good standing.Classroom teachers and employees in positions receiving more than a 1.0% general pay increase for the 2025-26 school year, as well as temporary and substitute employees, are ineligible for the supplement.

Classroom Teachers*
Salaries for classroom teachers are based on the salary ranges below (10-month schedule).
*Texas Education Code § 5.001 defines “classroom teacher” as an educator who is employed by a school district and who, not less than an average of four hours each day, teaches in an academic instructional setting or a career and technology instructional setting.- Starting salary for classroom teachers with 0 years of experience increased to $57,500
- New-to-district classroom teachers with 25+ years of creditable experience will be placed at the new maximum of $70,700
- In accordance with House Bill 2, returning classroom teachers who have earned a creditable year of experience will receive the following pay increases:
- 1 year of creditable experience = $1,000 annually
- 2 years of creditable experience = $1,500 annually
- 3-4 years of creditable experience = $2,500 annually

5+ years of creditable experience = $5,000 annually

Employees currently paid on the teacher pay scale who do not meet the above definition of a classroom teacher will receive a 1.0% general pay increase, equaling $615 annually.
All salary ranges are adopted annually by the Board of Trustees. The District ensures salary placement for new hires will be based on verified years of experience according to the Commissioner’s Rules on Creditable Years of Service. These ranges should not be used to project salary amounts for subsequent years.
