On On December 13, 2021, the North East ISD Board of Trustees adopted single member district (SMD) maps following Census 2020 for the purpose of electing trustees to the school board, which you can read more about here. The newly adopted maps became effective starting with the May 2022 election for Districts 2, 3, and 7. The May 2024 election will be the first election with the newly adopted maps for Districts 1, 4, 5, and 6.
