Mrs. Maria E. Wilhelm

Maria E. Wilhelm, also known as "Monte", began her teaching career at Tom C. Clark High School in the Northside Independent School District in 2013 after graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a focus on Teaching in the UTeach Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She has taught and worked with students of all different backgrounds in Algebra 1 classes, Geometry classes, and Sheltered Math classes for students with limited and/or interrupted formal education (SLIFEs) from various countries.

In 2018, Monte graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Master of Education in Educational Leadership to grow her capacity as a transformative leader for her students and colleagues. Currently, she will be in her third year of the Doctoral program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her research is dedicated to reforming curriculum and educational policies for Emergent Bilingual (EB) SLIFE students so they may receive the equal and equitable education they deserve. 

Starting the 2023-2024 school year, Monte will be the Math Instructional Dean at Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Northeast Independent School District. She looks forward to learning the traditions of the district and school, building quality relationships and communicating with all campus stakeholders, and continuing to do what is best for every student, every day.
