Mr. George Salinas

A native of the Rio Grande Valley, Mr. Salinas earned his Bachelor of Music at Texas A&M University-Kingsville with an emphasis in instrumental education. He has been teaching in the Texas public school system for 6 years, and has been teaching with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps for 7 years.

Prior to joining Roosevelt High School, he was the assistant band director at Edinburg North High School where the marching band qualified for the UIL 6A State Marching Contest in 2021. He also assisted the ENHS Indoor Winds program when they received the bronze medal in Open Class at the TCGC State Competition in 2021.

Currently, Mr. Salinas serves as the Visual Caption Head at Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps. He is an active member of Texas Music Educators Association, and Texas Bandmaster Association. Additionally, he is an alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, The Cavaliers Alumni Association, and Genesis Alumni Association.
