My name is Jose Hector Cano and I go by middle name, Hector. I am originally from El Paso, Texas but have been in San Antonio now for just as long. I am a retired Air Force Veteran and am a graduate of both Wayland Baptist University and the University of The Incarnate Word.

This year marks my 10th year of teaching across four schools, at the collegiate, high school, and middle school levels. I have also had the great opportunity to teach across multiple disciplines. This also marks my 16th year of coaching, having coached at the semi-professional level in Europe and at the Division I collegiate level at the United States Air Force Academy, as well as at the high school and club levels in both Texas and Colorado.This year will mark my first at MacArthur High School and I'm extremely excited to be a Brahma and help lead a program with such a rich soccer history. I come to MacArthur from Saint Mary's Hall where I was the Director of Athletics Media & Sports Performance, Director of Soccer, Head Varsity Women's Soccer Coach. While there, I had the fortunate pleasure of working with many great student-athletes and received many honors, having qualified for the TAPPS state playoffs all seven years, two Bi-District and Area titles, a Regional title, and a berth in the 2017 TAPPS State Tournament. I have a passion for "The Beautiful Game" of soccer and consider myself a lifelong learner of the game as I hold a National "C" and National Youth License from the U.S. Soccer Federation, along with Director of Coaching, Premier, and Goalkeeper Level III diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches Association.   

I am blessed to have been married for 17 years to my lovely wife, Lara, and we are equally blessed with two beautiful daughters, Salma and Selina.
